The Bitou 10 Foundation provides Educator Training Funded by National Lotteries Commission

The Bitou 10 Foundation recently contracted an Education Specialist, Dianne de Villiers, to provide educator training to address the needs of the schools within the Bitou region.

Educator Training2

Dianne facilitated 5 interesting and thought provoking workshops for the Foundation (Grade 1-3) and Intermediate Phase (Grade 4 -7) teachers and 1 workshop for principals and HODs during the first quarter of the year. On average about 45 educators attended each workshop and will be accredited with Continuous Professional Training (CPT) points by the WCED which is a requisite for promotional purposes.

The workshops were interactive, educators were alert and participated in group work and discussions. The workshop content covered the following:

Workshop 1

Part 1. Meeting the Needs of All Students through the Learning Environment

Part 2. Classroom Environment and Materials

Workshop 2

Powerful & Positive Classroom Management. - The CHAMPS Programme

Workshop 3

Inclusion Policy- Diversity, Accommodations & Multi-Level Learning

Workshop 4

The purpose of Assessment and developing an assessment for all learners.

Individual Support Plan

Workshop 5

Universal Design for Learning. Practical Implications

Workshop 6

Distributed Leadership & SMART Goals

These workshops would not have realised if not for the generous donation from the National Lotteries Commission towards Educator Training. The Bitou 10 Foundation extends our sincere gratitude towards the National Lotteries Commission for making such a worthy investment towards education in the Bitou region.
