Multimedia Clubs have been established at Plettenberg Bay Secondary School and Murray High School; offering students with an interest in computers, journalism, photography and film an exciting new opportunity to learn a variety of computer skills including graphic design, desktop publishing and video editing.
The Bitou 10 Foundation is working in partnership with Computers for Africa and the Western Cape Education Department to enhance E-learning at Bitou schools. These Multimedia Clubs will greatly enhance their members’ abilities to access the wealth of information and applications available via computers, the internet and electronic media.
This year, Multi Media Club members have been learning how to publish their own articles and produce their own video clips. They are learning how to write, edit and layout an article with a photograph including the necessary basic photography, filming and video editing skills. Samples of their work will soon be featured on the Bitou 10 Foundation website and Facebook page.
Once these students have mastered the basics they will learn how to assist their teachers in publishing school newsletters, newspapers or magazines. They will also contribute towards the production of a Bitou 10 Inter-School publication.
