There’s something powerful about young people stepping into spaces where they know they can make a difference

From 30 March to 2 April, Bitou10 Foundation, in partnership with YearBeyond, hosted a four-day Technical Training in Plettenberg Bay for our YeBoneers placed in local schools—and it was far more than just a training.

Over the four days, these young changemakers leaned in, grew in confidence, and built skills that truly matter. From strengthening Numeracy and Literacy support to learning how to engage learners with intention and care, the focus was simple: show up prepared, and show up well.

And they did.

By the end of the training, there was a real sense of readiness—of stepping forward with purpose into classrooms and after-school spaces, equipped to support, encourage, and uplift the learners they serve.

This is where impact begins. Not just in programmes, but in people. In the small, consistent moments that shape a learner’s confidence, ability, and future.
